Living the Dream (Day 2)

Lazy days of summer are really just that when on vacation. A typical day living the dream during our 3 week beach vacation really isn’t typical at all.  The day starts later than normal because it’s an opportunity for much needed sleep…especially after later evenings.  Every day is different with some key activities happening each day. Some things remain the same, however.  For example, my workout and shakeology are never missed.  I still start my day with my daily workout which sets the tone for the day.

Take a listen to my video to hear what a typical day is like for me living the dream:

During this time, I really take in and appreciate all the time that I have with my family and friends.  Having no plans, no routine and being spontaneous is what helps us relax even more on vacation.  It is a time to be off and on with healthy nutrition and eating on plan.  It is all part of living for balance.  I spend some time doing some work and then it is focused, family time.  We tend to not venture out too much and spend most of our time in our local area.  There is so much to do right here and everything is within walking distance.  This brings me great joy, peace and relaxation to have these unstructured days living the dream.

Here are our typical activities:

  • Working out
  • Walking on the beach
  • Reading
  • Kayaking
  • Paddle Boarding
  • Playing Kan Jam
  • Throwing a frisbee or football
  • Dining out
  • Shopping
  • Floating on tubes in the ocean
  • Entertainment in the Port
  • Visiting with family and friends
  • Happy hour at the beach
  • Looking for seashells and sea glass
  • Card and games
  • Listening to music

There is so much to do while we are here and so little if we choose to just keep it simple.  Every day is a gift to be enjoyed and treasured with memories to remember forever.
