Day 2 Consistency (Nutrition)

Working out is never a problem, I get my workout in everyday.  Nutrition on the other hand is more of a struggle.  I find that during the week, with a routine, it is much easier to stay consistent and on track.  I always feel like Monday is my start day to refocus.  I find it much more difficult to be consistent on the weekends.  I still plan ahead especially if we are going out to dinner or have other social events.  I do know that when I stay consistent with eating clean I feel so much better, have more energy and a stable mood.  Having a plan, prepping and being organized certainly helps with staying consistent and focused on your nutrition.

Check out my video to learn more about how I have stayed consistent with my nutrition and how it has helped me live a healthy lifestyle.

Here are a few tips I learned early on as I was making changes to my nutrition.  This is what really helps me stay consistent by focusing on these few key items daily:

  1. Eat every 2 1/2 – 3 hours to boost your metabolism
  2. Drink 1/2 your body weight in ounces of water (example, if you weigh 130 pounds then drink at least 65 ounces)
  3. Eat fresh fruits and veggies
  4. Eat lean protein
  5. Focus on eating healthy fats, such as raw almonds and avocado
  6. Eat whole grains
  7. Limit your dairy intake, processed foods and alcohol
  8. Plan to eat healthy snacks, such as fruit, veggies and raw nuts

A few tools that have helped me stay consistent include the following:

Reading the book “The Eat Clean Diet” by Tosca Reno.  There is also a great cookbook with amazing, healthy recipes. Check out more info about it here. or
